Webber swiftly gained acclaim with his directorial debut, "Girl with a Pearl Earring," starring Scarlett Johansson, Colin Firth, and Tom Wilkinson, earning him nominations for almost all major film awards, including three Oscar nods. His works also include "Hannibal Rising" featuring Gaspard Ulliel, Rhys Ifans, and Gong Li, "Emperor" with Tommy Lee Jones partly shot in Japan, and the critically acclaimed series "Six Feet Under," marking just a fraction of his illustrious career.
Alongside Peter Webber, this year's JSFF will welcome renowned casting director Luci Lenox, a collaborator with major film studios, who will also conduct a series of lectures. Director Masakazu Kaneko, the recipient of the Best Film award at the 2020 JSFF, along with several other notable Japanese filmmakers, will also grace the festival.
The aforementioned guests will be participating in panels and masterclasses organized by JSFF, with applications open from Monday, October 16, on the website www.jsffest.com.
This year's selection of feature-length films from Japanese and Serbian productions will be judged by Peter Webber and Masakazu Kaneko, along with Serbian representatives including actress Monika Romić and multiple JSFF award-winning director Ognjen Petković.
