A pivotal moment in cultural dialogue: This year, JSFF’s 12th edition will be hosted within Serbia’s national pavilion—the striking Floating Forest—at Expo 2025 Osaka, blending cinematic creativity with architectural symbolism. Inspired by the wooded “Great War Island” at Belgrade’s river confluence, the pavilion marries sustainable innovation and cultural depth. Japanese media and international commentators have hailed it as a design that harmonizes national identity with visionary storytelling, making it one of the most captivating structures at the Long-Term Expo.

With unique design by ALEATEK Studio and captivating spaces, from open landscape with themed urban furniture, stand-out green living facade, interractive exhibition to breath-taking "ZEN" red garden, Pavilion will also host numerous biz matching and cultural activities crowning with JSFF selection in September.
As Japan and Serbia deepen cultural and design partnerships, JSFF’s placement here underscores the enduring synergy between two nations. We are now accepting submissions under the open call with the theme “THE NEXT.” JSFF seeks bold, provocative, and forward-thinking films—feature‑length or shorts, live‑action or animation—that envision tomorrow’s cinematic language.
